Also it's been raining a lot lately (well, a lot by California standards), and this morning I found a giant earthworm in my kitchen, how did it even get there?!

I'm also trying to decide on kind of a large purchase. The time has come, I need an easel that can travel with me. I keep going back and forth between the two below. They're similar in price....and they each have pros and cons.

Versa easel

Pros: I already have a tripod (saved expense)

smaller and more lighweight

will carry small panels, and multiple wet panels

Cons: need to attach a tripod

less storage space?

Julian French Easel

Pros: don't have to attach a tripod

has a drawer!

might be better at holding larger canvases

Cons: much heavier

some say it's hard to set up

Does anyone happen to own one of these? Opinions are welcome! I can't decide!

Clouds in the Salt Marsh - Carpinteria Oil Painting - 18x24

My show at Corktree Cellars goes up tomorrow, I'm excited but I'm nervous too. Ever since I found out (8 days ago) I've been painting non stop... large, and non stop. I felt like I was in school again, and I had a cumulative final that I wasn't prepared for at all. But I did manage to finish 5 new large pieces, this is one of them:

I was trying out a new painting surface with this one....WORST panel ever, it was like trying to paint on water. I really do not recommend Speedball gessoed panels.

Sunrise Palms - Landscape Oil Painting - 12x24

This is the largest painting I've done in a long time. I was planning on taking several days to work on it, but I enjoyed it so much that I just kept painting into the night, and finished it in one day. I've never been so exhausted.
