Cabrillo Drive II - 9x12

I did a smaller version of this scene a while ago, I liked the colors so much that I knew I would eventually need to do a larger one.  Here it is:

Sunset Walk - 6x6

Well I spent A LONG time yesterday putting frames together, wiring, hammering, attaching the 6 screws per frame... I wish I could find the drill... that would be helpful, and I'm still not done.  My hands and arms are killing me! I wish I could hire a minion to do all my framing for me :)

Good news is I've finally finished enough paintings for the upcoming shows, so now I can actually sell some again!  This one will be my very first auction piece, on the new painting site I just joined.  I've set the start price pretty low so check it out!

Morning Shadows II - 10x20

I liked the smaller version of this scene so much I knew I had to paint a larger one as well.  Something about early morning sunlight is so invigorating, I think it's my favorite time of day.

Park by the Water - 5x7

I was attracted to this scene because of it's contrasts.  I was very excited about painting the guy on the left, that spot of light on his shoulder was the best part.

Beach Houses, Sunset - 6x12

This turned out better than expected it to! I love when that happens.

I'm a little frustrated at all this gloom we've been having.  I love to paint things either at dawn or at dusk...and it's cloudy at both those times! The sun comes out (a little) from 3:00-4:30... that doesn't really help me.  Maybe today will be better.

Sly's Sunset - 8x10

I was walking down Linden one evening and the sun was finally hitting this building just perfectly, it's such a fun yellow color, I've been waiting to paint it for a while.

The Lineup - 8x10

I painted this one just because it made me happy.  And I have to say, it looks way cuter in person.  I love avocado green and this turquoise-y blue together, I almost want to keep it but I don't know where I would hang it.

That Bluff Tree - 6x6

My interview for the SB News Press is today,  I think it might be a challenge since I'm not really great at explaining my art....which is why my posts are always so short, I don't think it needs much explanation! like today's painting, this is a tree, I liked it's shape so I painted it :)

Lifeguard Tower - 6x6

Oh man has it been gloomy here lately! June is definitely living up to it's reputation.  Luckily I've hoarded lots of reference photos of sunnier times for weeks like this, I guess I'm like a squirrel, or an ant....anything as long as it keeps me from having to paint gray things.

Curvy Pepper - 6x6

This pepper had so many fun curves it was just asking me to paint it.  Sometimes making dinner turns into a much longer process...

Santa Barbara Harbor XXII - 6x6

Tomorrow will be a busy day...and today will be busy while I prepare for it.  The Santa Barbara News Press is doing a story on me (yay!), and they're sending out a photographer to get some pictures before the interview.  And by some, I mean a lot, they want to include photos of 24 of my paintings, this makes me nervous and excited.  I'll let you know how it goes.

The Spot III - 6x12

I really want one of my paintings of this place at the Red Door Gallery next month.  The problem is you guys buy them too quickly! Which of course I'm thankful for, but I'm still going to hoard this one away and mark it "exclusively available at the Red Door Gallery", so if you want it you have to go visit my show :)

Tangerines Plain and Simple - 6x6

I decided I should add a few still life's for my upcoming show.  I love when they're bright and simple, it makes them fun to paint, and fun to look at (at least I think so).

Beach Day - 6x6

I painted this one just because I liked this little girl's tutu bathing suit (it also had glitter).  Swimsuits were so much more fun as a child :)

Sunbathing - 5x7

What a perfect way to spend Memorial Day, I know that's what I was doing :) That and swimming in the unbelievably cold ocean water, which was worth it since it somehow defrizzed my hair for a full three days afterwards.

Worker Bee Cafe - 6x6

My computer hates me today!

Here's a part of Linden Ave. that I haven't painted yet, which is surprising because it's my favorite part.  The shops are so colorful at this end.
