Carpinteria Baptist Church - 6x6

The final in my little nocturne series, and by far my favorite. Looking forward to the upcoming alumni invitational show at Westmont in a few weeks.

Streetlight - 6x6

The headlights and reflections off the vehicles is what drew me to paint this scene, had fun with that curb too.

Forgetting Tree Cover

So this is new and exciting, I'm on a book cover! I wish we still had a bookstore around so I could go look at it, but sadly they all have closed.  Easiest job I've ever had, I would not complain at all about doing more of these :)

Carpinteria Baptist, Front - 6x6

More nocturne-ing today, it's interesting to try to paint these warm and cool lights that are sometimes right next to each other.

Nightlight - 5x7

Pretty fond of this one, I think it looks better in person.  Something about these nocturnes make them very difficult to photograph.

Also, we're currently at war with an evil colony of ants at our place...so if anyone has amazing tips to get rid of them please share!

Carpinteria Powerlines - 6x6

I'm taking a little break from my Europe series (before I start on the paintings of Italy!).  Here's one of an early morning in Carp, I loved the color of that blue house next to the red color of the powerlines.

Lucerne in Clouds - 5x7

It rained SO hard almost the entire time we were in Lucerne, except for the day we went up to Mt. Pilatus.  We had clear skies that day, which was wonderful because I really wanted to go on the alpine slide! But the rest of the time it poured.  We went out to dinner before the worst of it started (and forgot the umbrella) and had a pretty fun time running almost a mile back to our hotel in the downpour.  We stopped under one of the covered bridges for sanctuary, and that's where I got this shot. Miraculously my camera stayed dry even though the rest of me was soaked.

Moving Sale, Part 2!

Well we are officially moved in to our new place, and my new studio is pretty much functional now.  I'm digging the view from my new window, learning to look over the freeway and right to the ocean instead :)

While trying to arrange things in my new, slightly smaller, studio, I came across some paintings that should have made it into my moving sale.  So I'm having a Moving Sale Part 2! Please take a look :)

Before

After! Yay! Ready to paint!
