Leadbetter Cliffs, 18x24

I've painted this spot many times, but I think this one is my favorite!
This piece is already sold (snatched up from the studio!) but will be on display at Zookers here in Carpinteria until November 4th.  I have 20 paintings on display there and it's fun to see them all displayed together instead of crammed in my studio.

Anacapa Coastline - gouache

Sometimes I work on a painting and the whole time I'm thinking, "this is terrible, this is the worst I've ever done, I should just stop, I hate all of this". And then it somehow magically comes together at the very end and becomes one of my favorites. This is one of those...

Franklin Train I - gouache

We've been enjoying Franklin Trail a lot recently! Zach's been enjoying it more though, he even spent a whole day last week hiking to the top of the ridge. I only ever make it to Frank's bench lol.

Clouds - 5x7

I feel like I'm constantly trying out new techniques with the gouache, there isn't enough time in the day to explore it all! With this piece I was trying to paint more transparently, building up layers. It's a tricky thing to do with gouache because I'm finding that it can get muddy pretty easily.
