Autumn in Carpinteria - 6x12

I'm not usually a fan of fog, but since we had such a beautiful sunny summer these last couple days of clouds and rain are a welcome autumn change :) It's making me feel like we actually have seasons! It also makes me want to eat candy corn...

Lauterbrunnen Waterfall - 6x6

Just got back from a weekend in Denver. Saw some great thunderstorms, played Catan, saw how candy canes are made, ate way too much food, celebrated big birthdays, and located a car battery. Now back to work!

This is another piece from that rainy day in Switzerland.  We were on a pretty miserable hike that day, my feet were soaked, and my throat hurt, but I got a lot of good painting material from it, so I guess it was worth it.

Coastal Roadside - Ventura Landscape Painting - 4x8

I've always been drawn to these fields, but I could never capture them (since the view was from the 101).  Luckily traffic was at a stand still one day, perfectly accommodating me.

Prussian Blue Storm - Original Oil Painting - 6x6

I thought I'd have another go at this scene, I think I'm much happier with this version.

After the Storm - 6x6

Happy St. Patricks Day everyone!  I made Irish Soda Farls this morning to complement our Irish breakfast, I recommend them, they were so easy!

I was feeling brave with this one. It had rained all night and the sun was finally breaking through, making everything that was wet seem very bright.

Storm in Blue and Gold III - Landscape Oil Painting - 12x24

Doing all of these paintings of thunderstorms is making me have dreams about them...last night I had to hide in my closet because there was a tornado outside...it was much more effective than it would have been in real life :)

June Gloom - Carpinteria Landscape Oil Painting - 6x6

Well June gloom is officially here, right on schedule. I already miss the sun, clouds are so boring when they don't do anything, like thunder or rain. Maybe I'll just have to learn to like painting fog.

Caught in the rain - Daily painting

I haven't done many paintings like this one, I'm usually not attracted to busy scenes. But this one had an atmosphere that I wanted to try to capture.
