Blue and Gold - 6x6

This is the last of the storm series, I had a bunch of extra paint when I finished yesterdays painting and  I thought I might as well have some fun with it.

Denver Thunderstorm III - 10x20

I love painting these large skyscapes, pretty much the only thing I like to do on a larger scale :)

DIA Abstraction - 8x10

Decided to have fun with this one.  I loved the colors and drama in this scene and painting it loosely was a nice change for me.

Yellow and Gray - 6x12

It's been kind of gray and cold out lately, it made me feel like painting a few of these cloudscapes.

Carpinteria Clouds - 6x12

Right when I said we don't get any cool clouds Carp decided to prove me wrong with a thunderstorm and hail, I love when that happens.

I also loved these clouds above the ocean,  I think it made for a really simple, clean composition.

Nevada Clouds III - 6x6

I woke up with one of the worst migraines ever this morning.  The first sunny morning in weeks and I was stuck inside hoping the advil would do something and wishing I had a cornflower blue refrigerator like Rachael Ray.

In other news, my new epson printer is supposed to come today! So I can start selling prints soon :) Stay tuned...

Carpinteria Tar Pits Park - 18x24

We've definitely had some interesting clouds here lately.  Right now it's so windy I don't think a cloud could survive, Charlie the cat is racing around the house like the world is ending.... I don't think wind is his favorite.

Gray and Gold - Landscape Oil Painting - 12x24

I really like how this painting turned out. Zach said it was like he was "on a roller coaster" ....I don't know why that is, but his responses are getting more creative :)

I'm also trying to decide on kind of a large purchase. The time has come, I need an easel that can travel with me. I keep going back and forth between the two below. They're similar in price....and they each have pros and cons.

Versa easel
Pros: I already have a tripod (saved expense)
smaller and more lighweight
will carry small panels, and multiple wet panels
Cons: need to attach a tripod
less storage space?

Julian French Easel
Pros: don't have to attach a tripod
has a drawer!
might be better at holding larger canvases
Cons: much heavier
some say it's hard to set up

Does anyone happen to own one of these? Opinions are welcome! I can't decide!

Storm in Blue and Gold III - Landscape Oil Painting - 12x24

Doing all of these paintings of thunderstorms is making me have dreams about them...last night I had to hide in my closet because there was a tornado outside...it was much more effective than it would have been in real life :)

Storm in Blue and Gold II - Landscape Oil Painting - 12x12

This painting was the hardest one I've ever had to photograph. It caused me to read my camera manual from cover to cover (something I've been putting off for months)....only to find out that the manual covers only basic things...like charging the battery, turning it on, and how it's not a good idea to drop it. I am now in a search for book, or secondary manual, or anything really that will unveil all the mysteries of my Nikon D3000 to me.
