Blue House, Monterey, CA - 8x10

It's been a really long time since I've painted one of these architectural pieces. I love doing them, but they ARE more time consuming (and studio time always seems too limited these days!)

Tree Lined Country Road - 5x7

I loved these tall trees, and the sun was hitting them just perfectly this afternoon...

And don't forget to check out my Moving Sale, only a couple days left!

Sunset at the Bluffs - 6x6

I was really sad to not participate in the annual studio tour this weekend, but since most of my studio is packed in boxes waiting for our approaching move date I guess I didn't have much of a choice :)

I'm really fond of how this little piece turned out.  It was one of those afternoons that was just perfectly warm and sunny, and the purple sunset shadows were just beginning to creep up.

Jelly Bowl Shoreline - 8x10 plein air

Here's this weeks plein air piece.  It might be the last one for a while, I'm getting a little too big to lug around all my painting gear!

Path to the Beach - 5x7

I wanted to play with the textures on this path a little, and making the horizon line so high gave me the perfect opportunity.

Sunset View from the Studio - 5x7

Although the noise level in my current studio drives me crazy, it does offer some great views on occasion to make up for it.

Carpinteria Jellybowl - 9x12 painting

Completed this commission a few weeks ago, love it when Carpinteria gets dramatic clouds like these.

February on the Bluffs - 8x10 Plein Air Painting

A bit of a unique situation of how this painting came to be, let's just say I felt a little more "watched" than normal,  and you'll be able to see photos of me painting it in the summer issue of Carpinteria Magazine :)

Plein Air at Goleta Beach - 8x10

Had to make an unexpected trip to Goleta one day, so I thought I'd at least make good use of it by making an extra stop and painting a new beach :)

View from Third Beach - 8x10 Plein Air Painting

I painted this the same morning as yesterdays painting.  I usually wouldn't paint a bright sunny scene without any shadows to play with, but I decided to have a go at it anyway.  My favorite part is the brushstrokes in the sand, and that deep teal color of the wave about to break.
And for some reason the camera didn't want to cooperate with me for this one, in person the sky is not that splotchy looking!

Rain and Birds - 8x10 Oil Sketch

I wanted to go out and paint (because the clouds were amazing!), but I could tell they were going to open up and pour on me any second.  So I stayed in the studio and painted the view from my window.  The ocean was an amazing color, a teal shade, that made it look much more tropical than it actually is.

Long Beach Lighthouse - 6x6

Zach and I took a trip to Long Beach recently (aquarium anyone?).  And I happen to find a few fun things to paint while I was there too :)

Sailboats - 4x4

Another small painting today.  This one was especially fun, the small space kept me from worrying about every detail in this cluttered harbor scene.

Autumn in Carpinteria - 6x12

I'm not usually a fan of fog, but since we had such a beautiful sunny summer these last couple days of clouds and rain are a welcome autumn change :) It's making me feel like we actually have seasons! It also makes me want to eat candy corn...

Early Morning Carpinteria - 5x7

Something about early mornings in Carp just make me happy.  Now if only I was more disciplined to wake up and enjoy them every day.

Streetlight - 6x6

The headlights and reflections off the vehicles is what drew me to paint this scene, had fun with that curb too.
