This is my 400th daily painting! Wow.  I guess if you want to learn something, just do it over and over, and by number 400 it will feel much easier :)

Steps of the Capitol - Daily Oil Painting by Sharon Schock - 6x6

This is the capitol building in Pierre South Dakota. I feel like I kind of had an ah-ha moment with this piece...I'm not going to say any more about it, it was something so obvious that I'm embarrassed I hadn't tried it before. But I'm glad I finally did because I'm really happy with how this painting turned out.

My Favorite River - Golden Colorado, Landscape Painting - 6x6

I love how this one turned out, it's of my favorite river in Golden, CO. A perfect spot to go hang out on really warm summer days. This will be my last post for probably a week or so, it's time to pack everything up and get moving! We leave Friday afternoon, and I'll get to start painting again on Monday (which happens to be my birthday, what a great present:). Did I mention that our temp housing is in a hotel? I'm hoping for an interesting view so I can paint what's out our window.... I don't know what's in store exactly, hello adventure :)
