Beached Boat - 8x10

Not usually one of my favorite times to paint (middle of the day) but I couldn't resist this fun boat with it's bright white sails up.

Three Boats - 9x12

This is probably my favorite of the new harbor paintings I did for the Tennis Club show (opening tomorrow). I really love how the water turned out, and I had fun getting a little loose with it.

Early Morning Boats - 6x6

Thinking today that there has got to be a better way to arrange my studio. I feel like I'm always at my tiny desk, and my large drafting table goes almost unused.  That will be my next project after this show goes up :)

Santa Barbara Harbor XXV - 11x14

As soon as I walked by this canoe I knew I needed to paint it.  The sun was hitting everything just right and the water was my favorite green color.

Jet Boat Commission - 6x6

Oil on panel, 6x6 inches
Sold

I've had a lot of harbor scenes commissioned recently.  Which is just fine with me! It's one of my favorite subjects to paint.  And since I was hanging out on boats and what not yesterday I finally got to make use of my anchor shoes :)

Number 400! Santa Barbara Harbor Series XXII - 12x12

This is my 400th daily painting! Wow.  I guess if you want to learn something, just do it over and over, and by number 400 it will feel much easier :)

Santa Barbara Harbor XX - 6x6

I get to eat cake for breakfast this morning, which means two things: 1. It's my birthday! and 2. I've been working as a full time artist for a year :)
It's fun to look back at the paintings I did a year ago, I think I've made some good progress.  Hopefully by next year they'll be even better.

I might be doing a larger version of this one eventually, I really like the colors I got to use.
