With the last few painting being as tight as they were (at least it felt that way to me) I wanted to do a couple that would loosen me up. I'm going to liken it to stretching after a run. This one was completed in about a quarter of the time that the other view of the same houses took.
I'm going to have to make another trip out to Miramar beach very soon, and hopefully catch an amazing sunset, there's so much more I want to paint there.
I knew I wanted to paint this scene, but it was a little bit awkward because there was a guy that kept standing on his patio in tiny underwear. That's what I get for being out so early I guess.
I can't believe I had never been to Miramar beach until recently. It's definitely an intriguing place, and there will be more paintings of it to come...
Hi! I'm Sharon Schock, an artist living and working in Carpinteria, California. In 2009 I started a daily painting project where I complete one small painting each day. These paintings will be up for auction or available in my etsy shop soon after they're posted here. To be the first to know about each new posting enter your email at the top of the page.
