I've been waiting all day to post this! Our power has been out since early this morning, and everything on my do to list today required electricity, so happy it's back on!
Wouldn't it have been nice if this was actually how this scene looked, but I think I edited about 300 people out of it. Florence seems to be the Disneyland of Italy :)
I've been wanting to paint this one for a while, but I was nervous about how all those statues would turn out. They were much more enjoyable than I thought they would be.
I completely forgot to post anything yesterday. I guess that's what happens when I try to do all my Christmas shopping in one day. I didn't get it all done, but I did get a good chunk of it out of the way. Now I can focus on other holiday activities, like the two craft fairs I signed up for, and of course lots of baking :)
One of my favorite memories in Venice was sketching I got to do there. I must have sketched at least a dozen of these waterways, each one was unique and all I wanted to do was paint them!
Busy day yesterday, I managed to melt a teapot and crack the stove all before 10 am. I didn't even know I could break the stove. It's ok, now I'll have the fun adventure of attaching a new stove top. Luckily I live with an engineer, so I feel like we should be able to figure this out :)
I loved painting this piece, I was instantly attracted to the bright yellow wall and the shadows. This was painted from one of my oldest reference photos, it's been in my "to paint" folder for over a year now. I'm glad I finally got to it.
Hi! I'm Sharon Schock, an artist living and working in Carpinteria, California. In 2009 I started a daily painting project where I complete one small painting each day. These paintings will be up for auction or available in my etsy shop soon after they're posted here. To be the first to know about each new posting enter your email at the top of the page.
