When in Rome - 5x7

I'm particularly fond of how this piece turned out.  Late afternoon sun on pavement is always fun to paint.

Lucerne in Clouds - 5x7

It rained SO hard almost the entire time we were in Lucerne, except for the day we went up to Mt. Pilatus.  We had clear skies that day, which was wonderful because I really wanted to go on the alpine slide! But the rest of the time it poured.  We went out to dinner before the worst of it started (and forgot the umbrella) and had a pretty fun time running almost a mile back to our hotel in the downpour.  We stopped under one of the covered bridges for sanctuary, and that's where I got this shot. Miraculously my camera stayed dry even though the rest of me was soaked.

Gimmelwald - 8x16

I said I wouldn't paint Gimmelwald (it's too beautiful, I would only make things worse!). But this little section seemed a little less intimidating, so I gave it a go.

Murren - 5x7

We visited Murren one day while we were in Switzerland, a much larger town than Gimmelwald, but similar in it's charm.

Boat in Lucerne - 6x6

Can you guess what got me really excited when we were walking around Lucerne one day? Yep, I found boats! In water that was such a different color than the Santa Barbara harbor.  Swiss boats yay!

Lauterbrunnen Valley - 5x7

One final go at this gorgeous Swiss landscape. Even in the fog this place was amazing.

The Chalet - 5x7

Really enjoying this different landscape.  These Swiss houses were much harder to paint than I anticipated.

Swiss Window III - 6x6

Another favorite, makes me wish I had red windows where I live.

Potsdam Trees - 5x7

I haven't posted in a few days.  Not because I haven't been painting, but because I've been too busy painting to get around to photographing the finished ones.

Rain in Amsterdam - 4x12

This is a really fun format to paint on, I wish it were more common.

Clouds over Amsterdam - 6x6

This is the last in the series for a while, I got distracted again :)

Clouds Over St. Peter's - 6x6

I've been wanting to paint this one for a while, but I was nervous about how all those statues would turn out.  They were much more enjoyable than I thought they would be.

Venice Canal II - 5x7

I completely forgot to post anything yesterday.  I guess that's what happens when I try to do all my Christmas shopping in one day.   I didn't get it all done, but I did get a good chunk of it out of the way.  Now I can focus on other holiday activities, like the two craft fairs I signed up for, and of course lots of baking :)

Venice Canal - 6x6

One of my favorite memories in Venice was sketching I got to do there.  I must have sketched at least a dozen of these waterways, each one was unique and all I wanted to do was paint them!

Church Near Ravenna - 6x6

Busy day yesterday,  I managed to melt a teapot and crack the stove all before 10 am.  I didn't even know I could break the stove.  It's ok, now I'll have the fun adventure of attaching a new stove top.  Luckily I live with an engineer, so I feel like we should be able to figure this out :)

I think this is my favorite in the series so far...

Afternoon at Versailles - 6x6

The opening last night was wonderful! Thanks to all of you who came out for it.  This was my first show where I was the only artist showing.  I think I have to conclude that it was a little less fun that way, I guess I enjoy conversing with the other artists, and not being the only one people came to see (that's so much pressure for an introvert like me!).  But overall it was a good night.
Although, I did have several people ask me "so you really paint a new painting every day?" yes I do. "do you also lie every day?" What? Why would I lie about that?
Hello, my name is Sharon, I paint, that's my job, and I do my job every day. "Schocking" right? (oh yeah, and I heard a lot of puns about my name too) .  Ok maybe this opening was just as fun as the others.

Foggy Day in Berlin - 6x6 & Show Opening TONIGHT!

Here's a link to read more about my show opening tonight. I'm getting pretty nervous, and a little excited (nervcited? excivous?) I haven't even seen everything hung up yet.  I've been told that since we're listed as #1 on the passport, things are pretty busy right at 5:00 and tend to taper off by 7:00 (just FYI)

Also here's number 2 in my new series, which is getting me very excited for the Europe trip we're planning for next year!
