Shadows in Front - 6x6

Couldn't resist this, I loved how these guys were lit from behind with their shadows falling in front of them.  I didn't even care that they were so confused at why I was snapping photos in their direction.

Bailard Avenue II - Carpinteria Landscape Painting - 18x24

My new favorite piece. My favorite part is the palm tree shadow on the street. I considered changing the colors down there a little, to more of what they actually were...I'm glad I didn't.

Autumn Light - Palette Knife Oil Painting - 10x10

I had a lot of fun with this one. These palette knife paintings are always so messy, I end up with paint in my hair, on my face, just everywhere!

Bailard Avenue - Carpinteria Landscape Painting - 6x12

I feel like it's been forever since I had anything to put in my etsy shop! This painting turned out better than I thought it would, I might turn it into something larger later on.

8th Street at Dawn - Carpinteria Oil Painting - 10x10

I liked how the sun was shining on all these little yellow houses, making them even brighter than they are already. And I couldn't wait to paint those big dark trees above, which just a few of their branches catching the morning sunlight.

3rd Street - Carpinteria Landscape - 6x6

I loved how bright this grass was in the sun this morning. I also liked the bright blue of the boat cover next to it...but I couldn't get it as bright as it actually was, even though I have probably 7 different blues to work with.

This painting reminds me of my childhood :) It's the entrance to the beach we would (and still do) always go to.

Morning in Edinburgh - Cityscape Oil Painting - 6x6

I painted this from a photo I took one morning on our way to class. It felt like at least a 2 mile walk and we were all jet lagged, so taking random pictures was a great way to stay alert :) And as I've now realized, pictures taken in the early morning are the best!
