Palm Trees in Fog - 8x10 Plein Air

I really liked this one.  It was one of those days that's really foggy but still warm because the sun is trying so hard to break through.  The beach was empty with the exception of a few surfers in the water.

Early Morning Sun, Carpinteria Beach - 8x10

The best part about being at the beach so early in the morning is that no one is there! Everything is so peaceful, it's also when I see the most dolphins :) Painting into the light like this was a bit of a challenge though, I hate wearing hats, so my arm got a little tired shading my eyes.

Primary Umbrellas - 6x12

I expected that these bright umbrellas would be the most enjoyable part to paint, but I had much more fun working on the figures.

Lifeguard Tower - 6x6

Oh man has it been gloomy here lately! June is definitely living up to it's reputation.  Luckily I've hoarded lots of reference photos of sunnier times for weeks like this, I guess I'm like a squirrel, or an ant....anything as long as it keeps me from having to paint gray things.
